If data updated in Access Tax is not syncing to Access Practice Management, the issue is often caused by incorrect permissions or the wrong user completing the Integration Server authorisation.
The authorised user must be a System Administrator and must have the Access Practice Management Admin permission set assigned. Follow the steps below to verify permissions and check who processed the Integration Server authorisation.
Check that the correct user completed the Integration Server authorisation
1. Log into Access Practice Management as a System Administrator
2. Open Setup
Go to Settings, then Setup
3. Check user permissions
In the Quick Find box, type Users
Select Users
In the Quick Find box, type Permission Sets
Click Permission Sets
4. Verify the admin permission set
Under Permission Set Label, open Access Accountant Cloud Admin
Click Manage assignments
5. Confirm the correct user is assigned
Ensure the System Administrator account appears under Current assignments
If the correct administrator is missing:
Click Add assignment
Search for the user
Tick the checkbox and click Next, Assign, then Done
Check who processed the Integration Server authorisation
1. Open the Connected App usage
In the Quick Find box, type Connected Apps OAuth Usage
Select Connected Apps OAuth Usage
2. Open Access Integration
Locate Access Integration
Click the number under User count
3. Review authorisation history
Review the list of usernames showing when each user processed the Integration Server authorisation
If the authorisation was completed by a standard user without the System Administrator role or without the Access Practice Management Admin permission set, this can cause synchronisation failure.
The correct System Administrator must reauthorise via the Integration Server.
Additional checks
If synchronisation failures relate to invalid or mismatched field values, refer to the article on mapped or synchronised fields from HandiSoft Desktop to cloud products for help identifying problematic fields in the Integration Server system logs.
